But even the best laid plans can go wrong. Cal, no longer a naive teen, gets past the police and breaks out of hospital. He's helped by a stranger, Nelson Sharkey, a private investigator in the right place at the right time. Cal is given a dream 16th birthday present: he learns that Gabbi has woken up from her coma.
